From materials to colors, traits of different roofing styles can heavily influence the appearance and feel of your home.

Are you looking to find the perfect way to stylize your custom home?  Well, a great way to do that is with a great roofing style.  From materials to colors, traits of different roofing styles can heavily influence the appearance and feel of your home.  Each home is original in its individualism, so it’s important to make sure you’re choosing the type of roof that suits you best.  Which type of roof is the best match for your custom home?

Asphalt Shingles

As they comprise about 80% of the residential housing market, asphalt shingles are reliable, algae-resistant, and affordable.  They have many other benefits, as well; they’re wind and fire resistant, and they’re great in colder weather.  Asphalt shingles are a great choice–they’re popular for a reason.  We use GAF Timberline Architectural shingles which are available in a variety of colors and profiles and are guaranteed for 30 years.

Clay Tile

Picture an Eastern Europe style home–for the most part, you’re going to imagine rustic clay tiles.  They might be heavy, but they’re durable and last for many years.  Their fire resistance is excellent, making them perfect for warmer and drier climates.  They’re expensive, but worth every penny in return value.

Wooden Shingles

These are usually made of rot-resistant wood, such as cedar or redwood.  While they do require a little more maintenance, they’re also extremely eco-friendly.  This means they’re inexpensive, and can be easily recycled.  If you’re looking for something a little kinder to the environment, wooden shingles are a great option.
