Bienville’
Screened Porch Addition
| In
order to enjoy an unobstructed view of their water gardens and
to entertain guests, the owners requested an enclosed outdoor
space that would maintain the style and flow of the house. The
octagonal great room is the striking design element in this
Southern Living House Plan designed by Stephen S. Fuller. Robin
Ford proposed a plan to build upon this octagonal element while
maintaining the varying exterior roof lines and the beautiful
garden view from the great room. He designed a 14’ x 24’
octagonal screened porch supported by large columns six feet
apart with unobstructed screening from ceiling to floor. The
ceiling extends to 14 feet and is white painted 1” x 4”
tongue and groove fir. The flooring is bluestone edged with
brick and extends beyond the screened enclosure to include an
outdoor patio to accommodate additional family and friends.

Rancher
Renovation
| At
the end of 2003 Robin Ford took on a project for the remodel
of this 1970's Carroll County Rancher. This home's original
construction included 2 bedrooms and 1 full bath and had 1,000
square feet. The owners contemplated moving, but
decided to remodel.
Robin Ford Building and Remodeling, Inc. created an open floor plan, totally renovated kitchen, and made it more accessible to the main living space. Further, the job
included organization and display space through built-in cabinetry,
incorporated a gas fireplace into the family room, added a master
suite that includes a spacious master bath, and allowed space
for an attached garage. The total square footage increased to
1600 ft. and provided a space that fit the total family's needs.
The pictures below show before and after photographs of this
dramatic change. |
