Screened Porch Addition – One Client’s Story
The Bienville Southern Living House Plan designed by Stephen S. Fuller features an octagonal great room. This magnificent feature is a central design element of the beautiful Carroll County home built by Robin Ford Building and Remodeling, Inc., seen below. The owners wanted to build an enclosed outdoor room that would maintain the style and flow of the house.
Robin proposed the construction of a similar octagonal element that maintained the exterior roof lines and the beautiful garden view. He designed a 14’ x 24’ octagonal screened porch supported by large columns, with unobstructed screening from ceiling to floor. The ceiling extends to 14 feet and is white painted 1” x 4” tongue and groove fir. The flooring is bluestone edged with brick and extends beyond the screened enclosure to include an outdoor patio to accommodate additional family and friends.
